Yes, it’s that time of year again. LAdobe is once again ready to deliver our annual Photoshop Idol competition to find the next great design superstar in Los Angeles and Southern California! Once again, we’re offering an amazing prize package to the winner including a one-year membership to Adobe Creative Cloud, an Astute Graphics Plugin and many more prizes.
But as usual, you have to earn it.
This year, we want to create a new 6″x4″ postcard that we hand out at various tech community events all over LA County. You probably have one. They help us market LAdobe to attract new members and they’re definite attention grabbers.
This year, we want to create one featuring a design for one of our 1,300+ members. It couldn’t be easier. Just design something in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, whatever you want, then email it to us as a 72 DPI JPEG, GIF or PNG 6″x4″ image (no other sizes or formats will be accepted) and we will consider it along with all other entries for the finals. THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE.
The new postcard will not just promote LAdobe, but also our Photoshop Idol winner. The design will go on all postcards alongside the name and website of the winner. And it won’t be in some small 8pt font. Everybody will see it loud and clear!
We’ll be accepting entries between now and May 15. At which point a panel of judges will determine the final three competitors and they will shoot it out in the live finals on Thursday, May 26. All entrants must be living in Los Angeles, Orange or San Bernardino counties to participate in this year’s Idol. Winner also must be able to present their design live to our audience on Thursday, May 28.
Entering is simple. To enter, just download the LAdobe logo from here and use that as the base of your design. Just send your designs in an email to admin@laadug.org between now and May 1. You can enter as many designs as you want so please come up with as many intriguing and exciting ideas and concepts as possible. We look forward to seeing them all!
